New Date for Sunbursts

After much consideration the Wakatere Sunburst Group have decided to defer 2022 Nationals from January, to May 7th, 8th, 9th 2022.   Covid in Auckland and the different alert levels have made it incredibly difficult to plan a January regatta with any certainty. Duty Roster Rejig

The Sailing Committee has rejigged the club programme with an intention to start club racing from Sunday Dec 5th. Alert levels permitting.  Consequently the Duty Roster for Club Racing has been revised and we have added Sunday 19th Dec in to the mix. Announcing LTS Term 4

The October school holidays came and went, as did the rest of October but we are excited to finally get our Junior Learn to Sail and Confidence 1 courses underway this week.  We have modified the courses at Alert L3.2 for very small groups  - 3 groups of 5 sailors on 3 different days on the week. Alan Thompson 1930 - 2021

Life Member and stalwart club volunteer Alan Thompson passed away yesterday. He celebrated his 91st birthday last month and will be fondly remembered by many of us at Wakatere.  ALAN THOMPSON  1930 - 2021 Life member of Wakatere Boating Club, NZ Sunburst Association, North Harbour Rugby Referees Association. Covid-19 Update for Wakatere

Alert L3 and Club Patrol Boats The restrictions around the use of patrol boat tiller steers and club buoys has been eased at Wakatere so that class reps are able to take out a boat and a mark or two to organize informal racing.
