Despite the necessary restrictions to keep everyone safe at the 2022 Optimist and Starling Auckland Champs, Wakatere was able to run a Clean Regatta and have been awarded a PLATINUM certification from Sailors for the Seas. 

Sailors for the Seas offers the world's leading sustainability certification for water-based events and some top level guidance to get there. Making the effort to run regattas in this way helps the whole club adopt better standards and practices - it follows on to every day.
