Celebrate the start of the 2024-2025 season with a whole club turnout at 11am on Sunday 29th September.
We are honoured to have Ngahiwi Walker from the Royal New Zealand Navy join us to lead a mihi whakatau (a Māori welcome that is less formal than a pōwhiri) to welcome everyone to the 2024/2025 season. Ngahiwi is a Devonport local and committed to sharing Maori culture with communities. Some of you may recall him from the fantastic Opti Nationals Opening ceremony!
We will also hold a naming ceremony to launch our two RS Quests – that's right, the Club has acquired an additional boat! Having two will significantly benefit our Adult Learn to Sail groups, and this is a perfect opportunity to formally name and launch them both.
Straight after the official Opening Day ceremony, members, their families & partners are welcome to join our life members and guests for a whole club morning tea. By way of a small food contribution to the morning tea, please bring a plate - home-baking or store-bought is fine. Thank you.
Afternoon Opening Day races will be the first two Summer Season Points. Mark your calendars and come prepared for some early wins.
After sailing, members are invited to join us ashore for a classic sausage sizzle provided by the club.
